The family of late Nollywood actress, Temitope Osoba has announced a new date for her burial, weeks after her initial funeral arrangements were postponed indefinitely.

Osoba, popularly known as Tope Osoba, will be laid to rest in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

Her family announced the funeral arrangements in an obituary shared via the actress’ Instagram page on Monday.

The Yoruba actress and producer died in early August 2026 at the age of 40, following a career in the Nigerian film industry that spanned nearly two decades.

Family announces Temitope Osoba’s burial arrangements

According to the obituary, Osoba’s body will leave the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, at 9am before a burial service scheduled between 10am and 11am.

The family stated, “Burial service Thursday 10th of September, 10:00am–11:00am, Akesan Club opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.”

It added, “Interment: Iperu Remo Cemetery ground, immediately after burial service,” with mourners expected to dress in white.

Questions remain over actress’ death

Osoba had publicly battled breast cancer and announced her recovery and return to acting in August 2025.

However, conflicting accounts have emerged regarding the circumstances surrounding her death, with her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, and members of her family reportedly giving different versions of her final hours.

Actor Yomi Fabiyi subsequently called for an investigation and autopsy, while Osoba’s family cautioned against spreading unverified claims.

Her burial was initially scheduled for August 13 before being postponed. The family has now confirmed September 10 as the new date for her final rites.
