TVC Online reports that Osoba had publicly battled breast cancer about two years before her death and appealed for support to fund her treatment and surgery.
In August 2025, she announced that she had recovered and was returning to acting, describing the period as one of healing, rebranding and empowerment.
However, the circumstances surrounding her death remain disputed, with conflicting accounts from her fiancé and family members.
Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, claimed that she died after being taken to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos, while members of her family gave a different account of her final hours. PUNCH Online reported that the conflicting accounts had raised questions about the events leading to her death.
Actor Yomi Fabiyi also called for an investigation and autopsy to establish the circumstances surrounding the actress’ death.
Following her death, the family cautioned against circulating unverified claims about her demise, urging the public and media to rely on information released through its official channels.
Her burial, initially scheduled for August 13 in Iperu Remo, was later postponed indefinitely by the family.
The family has now fixed Thursday, September 10, for her burial.
