Police arrest two over alleged burglary, recover laptops, phones in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has arrested two suspects over alleged burglary and stealing.
The police also recovered several items suspected to have been stolen during the burglary.
According to a statement by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Zungura, and signed by the Command spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, on Sunday, the suspects were identified as Eyelade Anuoluwa, 27, and Abdullah Musa, 28.
The Command said Anuoluwa allegedly burgled the residence of a complainant on July 26, 2026, carting away valuables estimated at about ₦3 million.
According to the police, “The stolen items included an HP laptop, Dell laptop, iPhone 12, Android phone, two power banks and recharge cards.”
The police said intelligence gathered by operatives led to Anuoluwa’s arrest in Ibadan, Oyo State, by personnel attached to the Ilesa Area Command.
“Following his arrest, the suspect was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, where he allegedly confessed to the crime,” the statement said.
The police said further interrogation revealed that some of the stolen property had allegedly been transferred to a receiver in Ibadan.
“Police operatives from SCID embarked on an intelligence-led operation which resulted in the arrest of one of the receivers, Abdullah Musa, aged 28 years, in Ibadan,” the statement said.
According to the Command, “Musa allegedly confessed to receiving some of the stolen properties and is being investigated over his alleged involvement in a syndicate dealing in stolen items.”
The police added that Musa allegedly admitted to buying an iPhone 12 from Anuoluwa for ₦25,000.
Items recovered from the suspects included an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, a Samsung phone, a mini DP charger, two power banks, a 16GB Apple iPad and a scrap phone.
Zungura commended the operatives for their efforts, while the Command said investigations were ongoing to identify other persons allegedly connected with the crime and recover additional stolen property.
The police said the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
