“I used it to support the orphanage” — Lady reveals what unemployed friend did with ₦400k raised for her rent

A lady has recounted how she threw an unemployed friend out of her home after discovering that money contributed by their friend group for her rent and upkeep had been given away.
According to the woman, her friend had remained unemployed for a long period because several job opportunities arranged for her were either considered against her faith or below her standards.
Despite this, she said she and other members of their friendship circle continued supporting the woman financially and eventually created a WhatsApp group specifically to raise money for her accommodation.
Friends contribute ₦400,000 for woman’s rent and upkeep
The lady disclosed that the group successfully raised ₦400,000, with ₦300,000 intended for house rent and the remaining ₦100,000 meant to cover the unemployed woman’s personal expenses.
However, about one month later, the friend unexpectedly arrived at her doorstep carrying several bags.
The narrator said she initially became worried and allowed her into the house before asking what had happened.
According to her, the friend replied, “The money you guys contributed for me, I used it to support the orphanage and gave part of it to complete a project in church”
Lady sends friend away after revelation
The revelation apparently did not sit well with the woman, who said she did not allow her friend to finish explaining herself.
She stated that she immediately threw her out of the house after learning what had happened to the money raised for her accommodation.
The account has highlighted questions surrounding financial boundaries, accountability and whether money given for a specific purpose should be redirected without consulting those who contributed it.
