He explained that at the hearing, Poco Lee would typically enter either a guilty plea, admitting to the alleged offence, or a not-guilty plea, denying it.

Oluomo also said he plans to attend the court proceedings to support Poco Lee and the wider Nigerian community in the UK.

He urged the public to allow the legal process to run its course, stressing that Poco Lee remains innocent until proven guilty.

“I can confirm that the reports are true. Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison.

“His next court date is scheduled for the second week of September, when he is expected to have a plea hearing. At this hearing, he will typically enter a plea of either guilty, meaning he admits to the offence, or not guilty, meaning he denies the offence.

“I will also be attending the court proceedings as part of my support for the Nigerian community in the UK, to ensure that our fellow Nigerian receives the appropriate support during this difficult period of his life.

“It is important that we allow the legal process to take its course. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
