3 Drivers, 2 Passersby Killed in Ikire Garage Takeover Crisis

At least five people, including three commercial bus drivers and two passersby, have reportedly been killed during a violent clash over the control of a garage in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.
The incident occurred on Monday, August 24, 2026, amid an alleged attempt by a group to take over the management of the garage.
Sources said the violence triggered panic across the town, forcing several shops and markets to close as residents hurried to safety.
A video circulating online showed the aftermath of the incident, including the body of a man with an apparent gunshot wound to the head slumped inside a vehicle. Another body was seen lying by the roadside.
