VIDEO: “How Another Alleged Fake Agency Operated Inside SGF Office” — Tinubu Orders Nwabueze’s Arrest, Suspends Three Perm Secs

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest of Prince George Buchi Nwabueze following fresh findings by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, concerning an alleged unauthorised government office operating within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, OSGF.
The President also ordered the immediate suspension of three Permanent Secretaries identified as M.S. Danjuma, Engr. Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah as the anti-corruption agency widens its investigation into alleged fake government bodies and weaknesses in Federal Government administrative processes.
Chairman of the ICPC, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, disclosed the development on Friday while briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after meeting with the President.
Aliyu said investigators uncovered an organisation known as the **National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office**, which allegedly operated from within the OSGF without the authorisation of President Tinubu.
According to the ICPC chairman, the office was allegedly promoted by Nwabueze with the assistance of suspected collaborators within government.
“The fake agency office, National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, was promoted by one George Buchi Nwabueze, with active suspected collaborators in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, contrary to extant laws and without authorisation of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Aliyu said.
The Commission said its investigation also revealed that Nwabueze allegedly operated under several variations of his name.
They include George Nathan, George Nathan Nwabueze, Honourable George Buchi Nwabueze, Prince George Buchi Nwabueze and George Nwabueze.
Aliyu said ICPC investigators engaged officials of the OSGF and obtained information concerning the establishment, operations and allocation of office space to the organisation.
The findings were subsequently presented to President Tinubu.
“I have briefed Mr President comprehensively on these new developments. ICPC will continue with its investigations accordingly,” the ICPC chairman said.
Following the briefing, Tinubu directed that Nwabueze be arrested immediately to facilitate further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the establishment and operation of the purported government office.
The President also directed the suspension of Danjuma, Gagare and Pheelangwah pending further investigation.
No finding of criminal guilt has been made against the suspended officials, and the investigation is expected to determine their respective roles, if any, in the circumstances surrounding the alleged office.
The latest discovery emerged from the ICPC’s wider investigation into another purported Federal Government agency known as the **Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC**.
President Tinubu had on July 7, 2026, ordered the ICPC to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the PFIPC and submit its findings within 30 days.
The Presidency said at the time that the PFIPC was fictitious and had never been established by the Federal Government through legislation, presidential instrument, executive approval or any other lawful process.
One Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew was accused of presenting himself as Director-General of the purported council and falsely claiming to be a presidential appointee.
The Presidency directed the ICPC to investigate alleged forged appointment letters and government documents, claims of presidential appointment used to seek official recognition and diplomatic assistance, and the opening of bank accounts in the names of purported government agencies.
The investigation was also mandated to establish whether serving public officials, private individuals, financial institutions or intermediaries facilitated or enabled the alleged scheme.
Tinubu further directed the Commission to identify weaknesses within government processes that could allow persons without lawful appointments or agencies without legal existence to acquire the appearance of official legitimacy.
It was during that wider investigation, according to the ICPC chairman, that investigators uncovered the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office.
The circumstances surrounding the newly uncovered office are particularly significant because the organisation had presented itself publicly as an initiative connected to the Federal Government.
Its public-facing materials described it as a national project operating under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and promoting Nigerian-made products, local manufacturing, small and medium-scale enterprises and industrial development.
