Netizens have expressed disappointment with Arise TV anchor, Rufai Oseni, and Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over their online attacks against each other.

The exchanges followed the drama that unfolded when Olayinka appeared on Arise TV’s Morning Show programme on Friday.

DAILY POST had reported that the interview with the minister’s aide ended abruptly after he refused to respond to questions from Oseni.

The development divided Nigerians, especially social media users, who took online to express their views.

Following the incident, Oseni and Olayinka resorted to online attacks against each other, raising questions about the cause of the prolonged face-off.

In one of his posts on X, Oseni said: “With all the noise if you think I will stop doing my work because of you! Hahahahah! You are mistaken. Again, we start again!

“In fact I will be speaking at Alliance France’s Ikoyi this evening. Pls make plans to be there!”

In response, Olayinka took to the comment section to attack the journalist, calling him “Mr born by mistake.”

“Congratulations Mr BORN by MISTAKE.

“Hope you won’t go there with BODYGUARDs like you did when you went ALONE to the burial of your dad then as there were no friends and family members to go with you.

“Àso anìkàndájẹ̀! Person wey nobody dey relate with in his father’s family, except his other maternal siblings Bose, Wemimo and Kingsley born to his mother’s real husband.

“Mind you, it is I WILL BE SPEAKING, not I WILL BE SPEAK. Pressure ti wa,” he wrote.

However, some netizens cautioned both parties against making derogatory remarks about each other and urged them to maintain decorum.

@ladipuposalako wrote: “If a grown adult like this can resolve to use this level of very petty comments and abusive words to make his point, then it is highly disappointing and an unfortunate one.”

@olatawurasegun said: “Please, bro can you stop, both of you are brothers, the sons of Oduduwa.”

@Oluwafemif39675 added: “You can make your point without necessarily being abusive. What then is the difference between you and the man you are trying to bring down?”
