Ghana Police Arrest 32 Suspects In Nationwide Crackdown On Robbery, Murder And Other Serious Crimes

The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of 32 suspects following a series of operations targeting robbery and other serious crimes reported across different parts of the country.

Among the cases under investigation are violent attacks on bank customers, gold dealers, mobile money vendors, and travellers along major highways, incidents that have long troubled security agencies and left many Ghanaians on edge while going about their daily transactions.

A murder case also forms part of the broader investigations tied to this operation.

During the raids, police say firearms, ammunition, and several other items linked to the alleged crimes were recovered from the suspects, evidence expected to play a key role as prosecutions move forward.

Perhaps most striking among the details released is the involvement of a 14-year-old, allegedly used by the criminal network as a lookout during operations, raising fresh concerns about how minors are being drawn into organised criminal activity.

Police say investigations into the wider network are still active, with some suspects believed to remain at large.

Officers are continuing efforts to track down those yet to be apprehended as the operation unfolds further.
