A disturbing scene has emerged from a hostel after a group of young women reportedly ganged up on two of their colleagues accused of stealing wigs and a phone, subjecting them to a violent confrontation that played out from a washroom to the front of the building.
In the footage, the two accused ladies are seen cornered inside the bathroom, surrounded by several of their colleagues demanding they return the missing items.
When they failed to respond in a way that satisfied the group, the confrontation quickly turned physical, with multiple pieces of wood reportedly used to strike them as the questioning continued.
Instead of the situation calming down, the beating is said to have followed the two women out of the washroom and continued toward the front of the hostel, with their accusers pressing them further even as they moved.
Throughout the ordeal, the two accused offered no confession, choosing instead to cry and plead for mercy as the confrontation carried on.
The footage, difficult to watch for many who have come across it online, has stirred a strong wave of concern, with numerous commenters condemning the level of violence used, regardless of the theft allegations involved.
Several have pointed out that such matters, however frustrating, ought to be reported to hostel authorities or the police rather than settled through physical punishment.
At the time of this report, it remains unknown whether the wigs and phone were ever recovered, or whether any formal complaint has been lodged over the assault itself.
