Drama as Bella sues ex Sheggz for alleged attempted murder, demands ₦2.5bn in damages
Big Brother Naija reality star Bella Okagbue has reportedly taken legal action against her former partner, Sheggz Olusemo, accusing him of attempted murder, assault, torture and breach of promise to marry.
A court document making the rounds online shows that Bella, through her lawyers, is demanding a total of ₦2.5 billion in damages over the alleged incidents and the breakdown of their relationship.
According to the claims contained in the document, Bella allegedly suffered repeated physical, verbal, emotional and psychological abuse during her relationship with Sheggz.
Her lawyers also alleged that the reality star was subjected to an attempted murder through asphyxiation.
The lawyers alleged that in October 2023, Sheggz assaulted Bella, locked her inside his residence and prevented her from leaving. They cited a message she allegedly sent to Sheggz’s mother at the time, pleading with her to intervene.
“Mum, please, call Sheggz to let me go home. I want to go home. I’ve been disrespected enough.”
Bella’s lawyers further alleged that she expressed fear over threats to her life and recounted instances of alleged strangulation in conversations documented in November 2025.
As part of the demands, Bella is seeking ₦19.826 million and £10,237, as well as ₦500 million for alleged breach of promise to marry and ₦2 billion for physical, emotional and psychological trauma.
The legal team has reportedly given Sheggz three days to comply with the demands, failing which further legal action would be pursued.
The allegations contained in the document are claims by Bella and her legal representatives and have not, from the information provided, been established by a court.
