A Dutch truck driver has been arrested in France after customs officers discovered more than 231 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside his truck.
The drugs, which have an estimated street value of around €6.8 million, were reportedly hidden inside the cab of the vehicle.
The latest seizure comes at a time of growing concern in the Netherlands following several major drug shipments being intercepted.
Dutch media reported that the arrest is another case involving a Dutch truck driver being caught transporting a large amount of cocaine through France.
In August, another Dutch truck driver was arrested in France after authorities reportedly discovered about 243 kilograms of cocaine hidden among bales of straw in his truck.
The latest seizure of more than 231 kilograms adds to a series of drug interceptions that have reportedly caused unrest within the Dutch criminal underworld.
French authorities have been carrying out checks on trucks travelling through the country as part of efforts to tackle international drug trafficking.
The Dutch driver’s identity has not been made public.
