“Aliko Dangote drove my mom home from the hospital when she gave birth to me” — Davido

Nigerian music star, Davido has spoken about his longstanding relationship with billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, revealing that the industrialist has been connected to his family since his birth.
The Afrobeats star, whose real name is David Adeleke, made the revelation while discussing Dangote’s lifestyle and the financial advice he has repeatedly received from him over the years.
Davido revealed that Dangote was present during an important moment surrounding his birth, recalling his involvement when his mother returned from the hospital.

Davido said, “Aliko Dangote drove my mom home from the hospital when she gave birth to me.”
Beyond the family connection, the singer disclosed that Dangote has consistently advised him to be careful with his finances.
He added, “Anytime I see him, he still tells me, ‘David, save your money!”
The singer explained that the advice was not something Dangote began giving him after he became successful in the music industry, saying the businessman had repeated the message since he was young.
Davido speaks about billionaires’ lifestyle
Davido also reflected on what he has observed about extremely wealthy people, suggesting that their everyday lifestyles can be surprisingly ordinary despite their financial status.
“Billionaires are the most normal people,” he said.
His remarks highlight the longstanding relationship between the Adeleke family and Dangote, while also drawing attention to the billionaire’s repeated message about saving money.
Davido has previously described Dangote as a close friend of his father and spoken publicly about the businessman’s disciplined approach to spending.
