Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) has maintained a strict code of conduct throughout its 11 seasons, with housemates facing disqualification for offences ranging from physical altercations and aggressive behaviour to sexual misconduct and repeated disobedience.
While eviction is determined through the show’s established voting process, disqualification is imposed by Big Brother when a housemate is found to have violated the rules seriously or repeatedly.
Over the years, eight housemates have been removed from the reality show before the scheduled eviction night.
With Nomy becoming the latest housemate to leave the Season 11 house, here are the BBNaija housemates who have been disqualified over the years, starting with the most recent:

1.Kemen — Season 2, 2017
Kemen became the first major disqualification in BBNaija history.
He was removed from the second season after being accused of sexually inappropriate touching of fellow housemate TBoss while she was asleep.
2. Khloe and K-Brule — Season 3, 2018
Khloe and K-Brule were both disqualified during the third season after accumulating three strikes.
Their offences included aggressive behaviour and physical confrontations with other housemates.
The pair therefore became two of the housemates to leave the BBNaija house through disqualification rather than the regular eviction process.
3. Tacha — Season 4, 2019
Tacha’s disqualification remains one of the most talked-about exits in BBNaija history.
She was removed from the show following a physical confrontation with fellow housemate Mercy Eke.
The altercation involved pushing and hair-pulling and led to Big Brother disqualifying Tacha from the competition.
4. Erica — Season 5, 2020
Erica was disqualified during the fifth season after multiple breaches of the show’s rules.
Her offences included abusive language and repeated disrespect for the house rules despite several warnings.
Big Brother eventually brought her time in the house to an end through disqualification.
5. Beauty Tukura — Season 7, 2022
Former beauty queen Beauty Tukura was disqualified from the seventh season following a series of aggressive incidents.
During an argument with another housemate, Beauty threw her wig and glasses, prompting Big Brother to remove her from the competition.
6. Faith — Season 10, 2025
Faith’s time in the BBNaija house came to an abrupt end following a physical altercation with fellow housemate Sultana.
The incident occurred during a rehearsal for a skincare task and resulted in Sultana suffering a twisted ankle.
Faith was subsequently disqualified from the reality show over the altercation.
7. Nomy — Season 11, 2026
Nomy became the latest BBNaija housemate to be disqualified after she refused to wear a ‘benchwarmer’ outfit assigned to her as punishment.
She was given the outfit after finishing last in the Head of House challenge and was reportedly the only housemate to finish in the position.
Big Brother subsequently asked her to leave the house on Monday, citing repeated disobedience of the house rules.
Her disqualification means Nomy became the eighth housemate in BBNaija history to be removed before eviction night.
Why BBNaija disqualifies housemates
Since Kemen’s disqualification in 2017, BBNaija has maintained a strict code of conduct for housemates.
Physical violence, sexual misconduct, aggressive behaviour and repeated disobedience have resulted in housemates being removed from the competition.
The show’s producers have repeatedly maintained that the rules are designed to protect housemates and preserve the integrity of the competition.
With 13 housemates currently facing possible eviction this week, Nomy’s removal serves as another reminder that popularity alone does not guarantee a housemate’s place in the BBNaija house.
Housemates are also expected to abide by Big Brother’s rules throughout the competition, with serious or repeated violations potentially ending their journey before eviction night.
TVC NEWS had earlier reported that Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 11 housemate, Nomy, has been disqualified from the Show Ya Sef house after repeatedly defying Big Brother’s instructions.
The development was announced by the official BBNaija Instagram account on Monday, September 7, 2026.
The disqualification comes after previous warnings issued to Nomy over conduct considered contrary to the show’s guidelines.
Her exit reduces the number of housemates in the Season 11 house to 15, intensifying competition as the reality show moves towards its mid-season stage.
