Faleke Replies Davido: “I’ve Never Rigged an Election, Face Your Music”

House of Representatives member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency of Lagos State, James Abiodun Faleke, has denied allegations that he attempted to influence the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the outcome of the Osun State governorship election.
The controversy followed a post by Nigerian singer Davido on X, where the artiste accused Faleke of pressuring INEC to alter the election results during the collation exercise in Osogbo on Saturday.
Davido had written: “Hon. James Faleke, stop putting pressure on INEC to change Osun election result. Respect the wishes of Osun people. We don’t want Oyetola and AMBO.”
Responding on Sunday, Faleke dismissed the allegation, insisting that he had never rigged or influenced an election and had no intention of doing so.
He explained that he travelled to Osun to support the candidate of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, while Davido openly supported his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, who contested the election on the platform of the Accord Party.
Faleke said, “I have never influenced or rigged before and I don’t plan to start now. Face your music while we face our politics.
“I came to Osun to support my party’s candidate, while you supported your uncle’s party, Accord. INEC is a body that can’t be influenced by me or anyone else.”
The lawmaker maintained that his involvement in the election was strictly political and rejected claims that he had any capacity to manipulate the electoral process.
