12 killed in bus crash on Hungary highway

A passenger bus traveling on a highway in Hungary early on Sunday went off the road into a ditch where it overturned, killing 12 people and injuring others, police said.
The bus, which had Polish number plates, overturned around 140 kilometres (87 miles) east of the capital, Budapest, at around 1am on Sunday.
In a statement, police said it was likely the driver fell asleep, causing the accident.
Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar said on social media at least 10 people were seriously injured.
He offered his condolences to the families of the victims and thanked rescue workers who were dispatched to the scene.
