Zamfara youths chase deputy governor during visit to bandit attack victims
Youths in Gwashi, Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, have reportedly chased Deputy Governor Mani Malam Mummuni and his entourage during a visit to sympathise with victims of bandit attacks.
Security analyst Bakatsine shared the alleged viral incident on his official X account on Monday, saying the youths confronted the deputy governor and his entourage amid growing frustration over persistent insecurity in the area.
The visit was reportedly intended to commiserate with residents affected by bandit attacks and provide assistance to victims.
According to the report, the youths, angered by continued attacks in Gwashi and neighbouring communities, protested against the persistent insecurity.
Bakatsine also reported that security personnel attached to the deputy governor fled during the escalating tension, leaving their vehicle behind.
