NPFL: Doma United fined N5.25m, handed three-match stadium ban

The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has fined Doma United N5.25 million for failing to provide adequate and effective security during their matchday nine encounter against Kun Khalifat FC.
Doma United held Kun Khalifat to a 1-1 draw in the keenly contested encounter at the Pantami Stadium last Saturday.
The home supporters allegedly attacked Kun Khalifat FC’s technical adviser Obinna Uzoho after the game.
They also engaged in hostile conduct towards the match officials and away team officials, thereby displaying conduct capable of bringing the game into disrepute.
As part of the punishment, the Savannah Scorpions have been ordered to play their next three home matches behind closed doors following repeated breach of security.
The match commissioner has also been recommended for demotion to the lower league for dereliction of duty, insufficient supervision and inadequate reporting of the match.
Doma United have been warned to tighten their security and educate their supporters on acceptable conduct or face severe sanctions in the event of future breach of the NPFL framework and rules.
The club have 48 hours from the day of notice to appeal the sanctions.
