Olanrewaju reacts to Rangers’ CAF Champions League exit

Rivers United assistant coach, Olanrewaju Yemi Daniel, has reacted to Rangers’ exit from the CAF Champions League.
Rangers suffered a 3-0 defeat to MC Alger in the second leg of their second preliminary round tie on Friday.
The Flying Antelopes crashed out 3-2 on aggregate, having failed to protect their 2-0 advantage from the first leg.
Daniel said he had earlier warned about the challenges facing Nigerian clubs in continental competitions but was accused of making excuses.
“I said this early this year but they said I was giving excuses,” Daniel wrote on his social media handle.
“I have been in the continent for the past 4 seasons consecutively.”
Daniel pointed to his experience of reaching back-to-back group stages with two different clubs in CAF competitions.
“We can only try but the gaps dey wide,” Daniel added, highlighting the disparity between Nigerian sides and their North African counterparts.
