2027: North-West Has Chosen Tinubu, Says APC Campaign Council Member

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has declared that the North-West has chosen President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.
Kwankwaso made the statement following the large turnout of supporters at the formal launch of the APC presidential campaign in Kaduna, which he described as clear evidence of the region’s support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Speaking to journalists at the VIP Pavilion during the event, he said the rally had demonstrated the North-West’s position ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to him, the region remains committed to supporting Tinubu, whom he said represents the hope of building a stronger and more united Nigeria.
“Today, we of the North-West geopolitical zone have spoken loud and clear on who we stand for. Our choice of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains our commitment to a better Nigeria and national cohesion,” Kwankwaso said.
He added that the significance of the Kaduna rally went beyond political mobilisation, arguing that it sent a strong message to other geopolitical zones about the need to support the President for the country’s continued development.
Kwankwaso maintained that Tinubu’s administration offered an opportunity to promote balanced development and ensure that national resources were distributed fairly across the six geopolitical zones.
“Tinubu’s presidency stands for fair and equitable distribution of resources to all zones, and his return will be a blessing to the greater Nigeria of our dream,” he said.
The APC chieftain also rejected suggestions that the North-West’s support for Tinubu was based solely on political interests or temporary arrangements.
He insisted that the region had a responsibility to remain committed to its political position and work towards Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 election.
“Asiwaju is the northern candidate, and he will not promote anything outside his ambition because we are trustworthy people, and we shall deliver him come 2027,” he declared.
Kwankwaso urged political leaders and stakeholders across the country to view the growing support for Tinubu as an opportunity to promote national unity and collective progress rather than pursue narrow political interests.
He maintained that the turnout at the Kaduna rally showed that the North-West had made its choice ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
