One person has died following a suspected stabbing in Hoogeveen, Netherlands.
The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Emergency workers found the victim seriously injured on the street at the junction of Wilhelminastraat and Grote Kerkstraat.
Despite efforts to save the victim, the person died at the scene.
Police arrested one suspect near the location shortly after the incident.
Officers arrested a second suspect at another location later that evening.
Witnesses told RTV Drenthe that an argument had taken place on the street before the victim suddenly collapsed.
Police said the injuries appeared to have been caused by a stabbing. However, investigators have not officially confirmed exactly what happened.
The identities of the victim and the two arrested suspects have not been released.
Police are examining the scene and speaking with witnesses.
