Keffe D Found Guilty of Tupac Shakur’s Murder After 30 Years

A Las Vegas jury has found former gang leader Duane “Keffe D” Davis guilty of murdering rapper Tupac Shakur.

The verdict came nearly 30 years after Tupac was shot in Las Vegas.

Jurors convicted Davis, 63, of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon on Monday, August 31, 2026.

They reached their decision after less than three hours of deliberation.

Prosecutors did not accuse Davis of firing the shots.

They argued that he organised the attack, provided the gun and helped his group search for Tupac and music executive Marion “Suge” Knight.

The shooting followed a fight inside the MGM Grand hotel after a boxing match on September 7, 1996.

Tupac and members of his group attacked Davis’s nephew, Orlando Anderson, during the confrontation.

Prosecutors said Davis and three other men later found Tupac riding in a car with Knight near the Las Vegas Strip.

Someone inside their white Cadillac opened fire.

Tupac was shot four times and died in hospital six days later. He was 25 years old.

Davis became the only person charged over the killing.

His interviews, recorded conversations and 2019 memoir became key evidence during the trial.

Davis had publicly admitted being inside the Cadillac and passing a gun to people sitting in the back.

His lawyers argued that he exaggerated his involvement to gain attention and make money.

They also said prosecutors had no physical evidence connecting him to the shooting.

The jury rejected the defence and found him guilty.

Davis was taken back into custody without bail. His sentencing is scheduled for October 13, 2026.

He could receive a life sentence. His legal team has said it plans to appeal.
