A pastor in Abia State is now on the run after allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl on multiple occasions, in a case that has left many residents demanding swift justice.
According to reports, the girl had been placed in the pastor’s care by her stepmother, who presented the arrangement as guardianship.
It was meant to be a place of safety for the teenager. Instead, sources say the pastor allegedly took advantage of his position and abused her repeatedly over time.
When the girl attempted to speak up about what was happening, she reportedly found no support at home. Her stepmother is said to have told her to stay put and simply comply with the pastor’s demands, leaving the child without an adult to turn to.
The abuse allegedly continued until the girl began resisting his advances. At that point, reports indicate the pastor assaulted her and threw her out, effectively abandoning her.
The girl’s ordeal has since come to light, sparking outrage within the community and calls for accountability, not just for the pastor but for the adults who reportedly failed to protect her.
As of the time of filing this report, the pastor remains at large. Residents and observers are urging security agencies to intensify efforts to track him down and ensure he answers for his alleged actions in court.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the case.
