“Whenever I got extremely angry, he would end up in hospital”

The first wife of late Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan Ogogo, Ajoke Taiwo, has spoken about her late husband following his death.
Ajoke, who said she was married to the veteran actor for more than 30 years, described him as a caring husband who played an important role in her life.
She disclosed this in an emotional interview while reflecting on their marriage and the loss of the actor.
‘He Was My Everything’
Ajoke revealed that she met Taiwo Hassan through the movie industry and was also an actress before she stopped acting to focus on raising their children.
She described the late actor as a loving husband and said he stood by her during difficult periods.
“I am Ajoke Taiwo, the first wife of Ogogo. He was a very good man, a caring husband and he truly loved me. He was like a father and mother to me. He stood by me during the times of trial. He was my everything.”
Speaking about his death, she said the loss had left a deep wound that she believed would never completely heal.
“What God took from me is so big and it really hurts me but I can’t question Him. This is a wound that can never heal.”
‘He Never Wanted Me to Get Angry at Him’
Ajoke also recalled how her late husband reacted whenever she became extremely angry with him.
According to her, Taiwo Hassan would become so emotionally affected that he would eventually require hospital care.
“He never wanted me to get angry at him. Whenever I get extremely angry, he used to land at the hospital because he would be so hurt.”
The comments came shortly after the actor’s death and burial, which attracted tributes from family members, colleagues and other sympathisers.
Taiwo Hassan’s daughter had earlier announced his death after revealing that the actor had been battling stage-four cancer.
The veteran actor was subsequently buried in Ilaro, Ogun State, with several Nollywood stars and other mourners in attendance.
