The Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), has joined the 2027 campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

NEWSNGR reports that Musa was appointed as the Secretary I of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council.

Speaking via a statement on Monday issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, Musa thanked President Bola Tinubu and the APC leadership for the position offered to him.

The minister described the appointment as a call to higher service, assuring the party leadership, stakeholders and supporters of his dedication.

He promised to execute the responsibilities of his office with diligence and focus.

He, however, stated that his primary responsibility remains safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting the lives and property of citizens.

The ongoing operations, strategic reforms, and inter-agency collaborations across the defence sector will continue unabated with increased vigour.

“Our resolve to uphold the mandate of the Ministry of Defence, protect our people, and drive Mr. President’s vision for a safe and prosperous Nigeria remains firm and unshakeable,” the minister stated.

The minister also called on party members and Nigerians to remain united behind the administration, expressing confidence that the party would succeed at the polls while continuing to deliver governance and security across the country.
