Nigerian TikToker, Nsikak Abigail popularly known as Mirabel, has returned to social media months after being placed under rehabilitation in Ogun State following the controversy surrounding her false rape allegation.

According to PUNCH, Mirabel made a series of posts on TikTok on Saturday, marking her first known public updates in months. In one of the posts, she wrote, “I survived, so I’m awaiting your hate comments,” while another carried the caption, “Out of therapy but not healed.”

Mirabel also posted another message saying she had “made peace with my mental health since rehab couldn’t help” before greeting her followers with, “Hi y’all.” The posts appeared to signal her return to public life after spending months under the care of the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

Mirabel first gained widespread attention in February 2026 after making a series of TikTok posts alleging that an unidentified man had invaded her residence in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, and sexually assaulted her.

The allegation triggered widespread reactions online, with celebrities, activists and members of the public expressing support and calling for action. However, the claims later came under scrutiny after inconsistencies emerged, and Mirabel subsequently admitted during a conversation with social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, that the rape allegation was false.

Following the development, the Ogun State Police Command investigated the matter, while Mirabel was eventually released to the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development for care and rehabilitation rather than immediate prosecution.

In June, Ogun State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, said investigations and Mirabel’s own admissions established that the rape allegation had been “false and deliberately fabricated.” The state government subsequently maintained that psychosocial rehabilitation was considered more appropriate in the circumstances.

Her latest TikTok posts mark her return to social media roughly six months after the controversy began. However, Mirabel did not disclose when she left the rehabilitation programme or provide details about what prompted her return.
