He must be mad – Oyedepo reacts to Sheikh Jingir’s controversial Muslim-Muslim ticket remarks

President and founder of the Winners Chapel Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has slammed an Islamic cleric, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, over the latter’s recent comments against Christians in Nigeria.
At a political function in Kano State earlier this month, the Islamic cleric claimed that Nigeria belongs to the Muslim region, insinuating that Christians are secondary in the country.
Sheikh Jingir, who was defending his support for the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket ahead of the January election, said his religion outnumbered Christians.
His remark stirred anger in Christian communities across the country, with many Nigerians, including some Muslims, calling for his arrest.
Reacting, Oyedepo, during a sermon captured in a viral video, countered the claim, urging those supporting the Islamic cleric to watch the crowd in churches and retract their comments.
“Watch Redemption Camp, Salvation Ministries, Dunamis and other ministries in Nigeria.
“And someone will stand and say Nigeria is an Islamic nation? Is he mad? Yes, he must be mad”, he said.
Oyedepo further predicted strange happenings within the country in the next one year.
“Now, watch, there shall be strange happenings between now and the next twelve months in Nigeria”, he added.
