Lady advises men against marriage, calls being a husband an “unpayable job”

A Nigerian lady has advised men to reconsider marriage, describing the responsibilities that come with being a husband as some of the most demanding and unrewarded jobs.

In a video shared online, she argued that men automatically take on multiple roles after getting married, including provider, protector, driver and emotional support system for their families.

She compared the responsibilities to professional jobs that people are paid to perform, noting that husbands often provide the same services to their wives and children without financial compensation.

According to her, a husband effectively becomes a security guard who monitors the family’s safety, particularly at night.

She also described husbands as drivers who transport their wives and children to school, work and other destinations, especially when the wife is pregnant.

The lady further highlighted the emotional and mental responsibilities placed on husbands, comparing the role to that of human resources and relationship managers.

She said in part …

“At this point I don’t advise men to get married again because being a husband is one of the most useless and unpayable jobs on earth. Make it make sense to me. You got married to a woman and you immediately became her provider and her protector. These are payable jobs.

“Let’s break it down. Being a security guard is a payable job but you are offering that service for free to that woman and her kids. Sometimes in the middle of the night you are expected to move round the vicinity and environment to check out who and who is not sleeping.

“Number two, you became her driver. These are payable jobs. You drive her and her kids. You drive the kids to school, you drive her to work, especially if she’s pregnant. You become her driver and these are payable jobs.

“Number three, the emotional and mental load of that family becomes on your shoulder. Do you know how much people are being paid to be HR and relational managers….”
