A Nigerian lady has sought advice online after revealing a private issue concerning her aged parents, claiming that her father is still sexually intimate with her mother despite her discomfort.
According to the lady, her parents are age mates and are both 65 years old. She said her mother recently confided in her about the situation, explaining that she no longer enjoys sexual intercourse and that it has become painful for her.
The lady disclosed that her mother allegedly told her that her father has threatened to be unfaithful if she refuses to have sex with him, leaving her unsure about how to intervene in the matter.
In her words shared on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote:
“My father and my mother are age mates. They are both 65 years old. Recently, my mother reported to me that my father is still having sex with her.
She said she doesn’t enjoy it anymore and it’s becoming painful, but my father has threatened to cheat if my mother doesn’t allow him. I don’t know how to interfere. I’m clueless.”
The revelation has prompted discussions online, with many people advising the woman not to ignore her mother’s concerns, particularly because the situation involves pain and pressure within a marriage.
Others, however, argued that the couple’s intimate relationship should remain primarily between the two spouses and cautioned the daughter against becoming directly involved.
The situation has sparked debate about intimacy, consent and communication in long-term marriages, particularly among older couples.
