‘I Can’t Get Over Silly Advice To Commander-In-Chief’ – Murray-Bruce Blames Jonathan For Amaechi’s Exit From PDP
Former Bayelsa senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, has blamed former President Goodluck Jonathan for the exit of ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and five other governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015.
NEWSNGR reports that Murray-Bruce, in a video making the rounds online, said Amaechi and other PDP chieftains dumped Jonathan over poor decisions and silly advice the former President was getting from his aides.
According to him, those around Goodluck Jonathan ignored repeated warnings about growing dissatisfaction among key PDP governors.
Murray-Bruce stressed that some presidential aides failed to treat the clear signs of unhappiness among major political figures within the party with the urgency they warranted.
He said, “As I sit here and think about my experience with people who were so incompetent and unconcerned about the people they served, giving silly advice to the Commander-in-Chief, I am amazed. I can’t get over it.”
In other news, Murray-Brucer recently stated that the 1983 military coup that ousted President Shehu Shagari’s government greatly affected his concert promotion business.
Speaking on Wednesday, in the Infrastructure Dialogue 2026 in Abuja, Murray-Bruce stated that the coup led to the collapse of his business.
He recounted how he built a growing concert promotion outfit between 1980 and 1983 after starting the business with a ₦20,000 loan borrowed from his siblings.
According to him, the industry was still in its early stages in Nigeria, with limited infrastructure, few media platforms, and little institutional support for entertainment ventures.
He explained that the turning point came with the military takeover in 1983, which disrupted nationwide business operations and effectively shut down his entertainment activities.
