Kano Security Corps arrests two over removal of Kofar Nasarawa Bridge fences

The suspects are Abba Aminu, 30, a resident of Durmin Zungura Quarters in Kano Municipal, and Yusha’u Nasiru, 26, from Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.
They were arrested at about 4 am on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, during an operation by personnel of the Corps’ Kano Municipal Command.
The Deputy Commander General, Major Adamu Abubakar (rtd.), announced the arrest while presenting the suspects to the public, describing the protection of public assets as a key responsibility of the security outfit.
According to a statement released on Wednesday by the Corps’ Director of Public Enlightenment, Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim, the agency would continue to take action against vandalism, theft and other offences threatening public safety and government infrastructure.
Abubakar noted that the loss or destruction of public facilities could impose additional costs on the government and endanger residents who depend on such infrastructure.
He appealed to residents to assist security agencies by providing credible information about suspicious activities in their communities, adding that public cooperation was essential to preventing crime.
