“We were always hungry” – Jarvis opens up on difficult childhood, mother’s ailment and how she met Peller

Content creator Jarvis has opened up about her difficult childhood, revealing how growing up with a mother living with bipolar disorder and not knowing her father shaped her life.

During a recent interactive session in Pastor Tobi Adegboyega’s church in the UK, Jarvis shared her story revealing she was raised largely by her grandparents, whom she described as strict but instrumental in giving her structure and helping her navigate difficult circumstances.

She disclosed that things became particularly difficult when her family struggled to pay her school fees, adding that hunger also became a major challenge.

“We were always hungry, and we’ll go to TikTok and be watching food just to get satisfied, salivate, and at the end of the day we would cry and pray and just say, God, help us,” she said.

According to Jarvis, she was introduced to TikTok livestreaming by a friend and initially made $5 after getting about 200 views during her first livestream with her sister.

She said she and her sister continued livestreaming because they wanted to raise money for their education and provide basic needs for themselves, despite their family’s disapproval of social media.

Jarvis also recounted how she met her husband, Peller, during a livestream. She said Peller initially showed interest in her sister but later began showing interest in her.

“I met Peller on live stream. He was wooing my sister. He was liking me but I was like, Bro, don’t talk to me. Talk to my sister,” she added.

Jarvis said she initially viewed Peller as her sister’s type and only wanted them to create content and remain friends, never expecting their relationship to eventually become a reality.
