NIS asks Nigerians in UK with delayed passports to submit details

The Nigeria Immigration Service has asked Nigerians in the United Kingdom who completed their Contactless Passport Application but are yet to receive their passports to submit their details for resolution.
The NIS made this known in a post on its X handle on Sunday, directing affected applicants to complete a Contactless Passport Application Resolution Form.
“Are you in the United Kingdom and have completed your Contactless Passport Application but yet to receive your passport?
“Kindly submit your details using the form below.
“The Service values your patience and understanding as we are currently working to resolve all issues,” the NIS stated.
According to the resolution form, applicants are required to provide their full names, contact details, application and reference numbers, as well as their location in the UK.
They are also expected to indicate whether they sent a self-addressed envelope with their old passports to the Nigerian High Commission and whether they have tracked their passport applications.
The NIS said complaints submitted through the form would be collated and reviewed three working days after submission.
The development comes days after the Service announced the deployment of a passport intervention team to four UK cities to attend to Nigerians seeking new passports, renewals and the resolution of pending applications.
The intervention exercise is scheduled to hold in London and Manchester from September 7 to 19, and in Aberdeen and Cardiff from September 21 to 26.
The Service said the exercise was part of efforts to address the backlog of pending passport applications in the UK.
It also advised applicants seeking new passports or renewals to apply and make payment through the NIS Passport Application portal ahead of the intervention exercise.
