Turkish football pundit Adnan Aybaba has made a controversial promise involving Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
Aybaba said he would paint his entire body black if Osimhen scores more goals than Dušan Vlahović and Romelu Lukaku in the Turkish Süper Lig this season.
He made the comments during an appearance on Turkish sports programme Telegol.
Aybaba believes Beşiktaş striker Vlahović is a better footballer than Osimhen and predicted that the Galatasaray star would finish behind both Vlahović and Fenerbahçe striker Lukaku in the goalscoring race.
He said:
“Osimhen will lag behind Lukaku and Vlahovic. Vlahovic is a better footballer than Osimhen,”
Aybaba then added:
“If Osimhen surpasses them in goals, I will paint myself black.”
His comments have attracted attention, especially because Osimhen is currently ahead of both players in the league goalscoring race.
The Nigerian striker has scored five Süper Lig goals for Galatasaray so far this season.
Vlahović has scored three goals for Beşiktaş, while Lukaku is yet to score a league goal for Fenerbahçe.
That means Osimhen has already opened an early lead over the two strikers Aybaba backed to finish ahead of him.
However, the season is still in its early stages, leaving plenty of time for the goalscoring battle between the three forwards to develop.
