Oyo Speaker Ogundoyin Hosts Cute Abiola Ahead of Ibadan Comedy Festival

In a boost to the regional creative industry, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting young talent following a high-profile visit from popular Nigerian comedian Abdulgafar Ahmed Abiola, known as “Cute Abiola.”

During the visit, Cute Abiola formally presented details for the upcoming Ibadan edition of the “Comedy Festival with Cute Abiola,” scheduled to hold on Sunday, September 27, at the Jogor Centre.

Sharing details of the meeting via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin expressed enthusiasm for the event following its previous run in Kwara State.

“It was great having one of Nigeria’s favourite young comedians, Abdulgafar Ahmed Abiola, popularly known as Cute Abiola, stop by my office today to formally present the Ibadan edition of the ‘Comedy Festival with Cute Abiola,’” Ogundoyin wrote.

“We had a good time talking about comedy, creativity, the entertainment industry and, of course, the big one coming to Ibadan on Sunday, 27th September at Jogor Centre. Following the impressive Kwara edition, Ibadan is next, and I have no doubt that this is going to be one evening of serious laughter, good vibes and amazing entertainment.”

The Speaker commended the entertainer for leveraging his craft to inspire youth entrepreneurship and highlighted the role of the creative industry in providing sustainable career paths.
