DHL Express has introduced a new domestic shipping service in Nigeria aimed at online retailers, small businesses and individuals seeking a more affordable option for less urgent parcel deliveries within the country.

The service, called Domestic Select, is designed to give customers greater flexibility in moving parcels across Nigeria as e-commerce and domestic trade continue to expand.

DHL said the service would enable online retailers and entrepreneurs to fulfil orders and reach customers beyond their immediate locations, while providing businesses with a lower-cost option for shipments that do not require urgent delivery.

“Businesses today need delivery solutions that are dependable, accessible, and cost-effective,” Country Manager, DHL Express Nigeria, Muyiwa Adeseyoju, said.

“Domestic Select gives customers more flexibility and choice for their less urgent shipments without compromising on reliability,” he added.

The new service is part of DHL Express’s existing range of products and is intended to complement its domestic shipping options, giving customers an alternative for parcels where speed is less critical.

DHL said the service would be particularly suited to small and medium-sized enterprises, online retailers, entrepreneurs and corporate customers looking for a domestic logistics partner.

Nigeria’s expanding digital commerce market has increased the need for logistics services that can move goods between sellers and customers across different parts of the country. For online retailers, reliable domestic delivery is an important part of fulfilling orders and extending their customer base beyond their immediate locations.

Domestic Select is also intended to give individuals a more convenient option for sending parcels to family and other recipients within Nigeria.

Adeseyoju said the company was combining its logistics network and operational expertise with a service designed around local shipping needs.

“By combining DHL’s trusted network and operational expertise with a solution tailored to local needs, we are making domestic shipping more accessible for businesses and individuals across Nigeria,” he said.

DHL said the service would support businesses seeking to expand into new markets within Nigeria by providing a shipping option that balances cost and delivery requirements.
