Ronaldinho Returns To Professional Football At 46, Joins Italian

Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho has made a sensational return to professional football at the age of 46, after arriving in Italy ahead of his unveiling as a Ravenna player.
The former Ballon d’Or winner arrived at Forlì Airport in Emilia-Romagna on Thursday, as the Serie C club prepares a series of events to officially mark his return.
Ravenna confirmed his arrival through its social media platforms, sharing images of the iconic former Brazil international.
Ronaldinho announced his decision to return to professional football in June and is expected to feature for Ravenna in at least one official match.
The club, however, has yet to announce when he will make his competitive debut.

His return is expected to provide Ravenna with more than sporting value, as the Italian club hopes his global reputation will attract international attention, boost its commercial profile and generate greater interest in the team.
Ronaldinho also enjoys a strong relationship with Ravenna president Ignazio Cipriani, the Italian businessman who acquired the club in 2024.
Cipriani, whose family owns the renowned Cipriani restaurant group, has described Ravenna as a personal project and expressed ambitions to expand the club’s profile.
The agreement involving Ronaldinho is also linked to an international promotional and commercial project involving Black Duck and sportswear giant Nike.
Before heading to Emilia-Romagna, Ronaldinho visited Milan, where he spent two-and-a-half seasons during his illustrious playing career. He also met former Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric and shared photographs of their encounter online.
Explaining his decision to return to football, Ronaldinho said at his presentation in Miami nearly two months ago that his motivation was driven by his enduring passion for the sport.
“Football has always been joy for me, and I am excited to bring that spirit to Ravenna. Let the magic begin!” he said.
Ronaldinho’s return adds another remarkable chapter to a career that includes a FIFA World Cup title, UEFA Champions League triumph and Ballon d’Or award.
At 46, the Brazilian icon now has the opportunity to make a competitive appearance in Italy’s third tier and once again showcase the flair and creativity that made him one of football’s most celebrated stars.
