Troops intercept military kit, arrest driver, passengers in Bauchi

The incident was disclosed in a post on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region.
Makama, citing security sources, said that the interception occurred at about 9 am on November 7, 2026, when troops stopped and searched the vehicle.
The search reportedly led to the discovery of a bag containing a pair of desert boots, camouflage clothing and bandoliers.
According to the report, a female passenger had alighted from the vehicle before the search, claiming she wanted to ease herself in a nearby bush.
However, upon the discovery of the military items, the woman reportedly fled and failed to return to the vehicle.
Other passengers allegedly told the troops that the bag belonged to the fleeing woman.
The driver and the remaining passengers were subsequently taken into military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
