Adeola made the announcement on Friday at the Imeko-Afon Local Government Area Stakeholders’ Meeting, assuring residents that construction work on the identified roads would commence within the next two weeks.

The roads earmarked for reconstruction include Olokuta-Iwoye Road, 07 Resort Road in Ilara, Oke-Agbede-Moriwi-Iwoye Road, Yidi-Catholic Church Road, Ita-Oba Road in Ilara, Old Palace Road in Idofa, Yidi-Awela Road in Owode Idi-Ayin and Masalam Road in Owode Idi-Ayin.

Two educational institutions, Community High School, Iwoye, and Community Comprehensive College, Idopa, Imeko-Afon, are also scheduled for renovation.

Speaking at the meeting, Adeola said the projects were part of his efforts to accelerate infrastructure development and improve living conditions across the local government.

“In the next two weeks, construction works will start on these roads in Imeko-Afon,” he said, listing the eight roads and two schools approved for intervention.

The senator disclosed that the new projects would complement more than 30 road construction projects he had undertaken across Imeko-Afon, underscoring his commitment to expanding infrastructure development in the area.

Beyond roads and education, Adeola announced that construction work on a proposed Free Trade Zone in Imeko-Afon would begin in December 2026.

He said arrangements were being made to secure land for the project, adding that its development would not be allowed to suffer unnecessary delays.

“I have asked that we get land for the Free Trade Zone, and construction works will commence immediately. Any attempt to develop Imeko-Afon and environs must not be delayed,” he said.

The stakeholders’ meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Director-General of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, Senator Olalekan Mustapha; and Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka.

Also present was the Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamin Oyeditan Alabi Olanite (Egi-Ogboye, Akanku IV), alongside traditional chiefs and other community stakeholders from across Imeko-Afon.
