“If you rent your empty land to church…” — Daddy Freeze warns Lagos landlords

Published

Media personality Daddy Freeze has sparked reactions online after advising landlords in Lagos and across Nigeria to stop renting out their houses and vacant land to churches.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Daddy Freeze claimed that although churches often pay better than many tenants, some eventually refuse to vacate rented properties and attempt to take ownership of them.

He also urged people with similar experiences to share them in the comment section.

Daddy Freeze claims churches take over rented properties

Addressing landlords, Daddy Freeze said they should avoid leasing both houses and empty plots of land to churches. According to him, such arrangements could eventually lead to disputes over ownership.

This is for all landlords in Lagos and even across the country. Stop renting your houses out to churches, stop lending your land out to churches because you see let me tell you the funny thing is they pay better than most tenants but they will never leave and after a while they want to take over your property.”

He added that while he would not accuse every church of engaging in such practices, he alleged that “most churches” operate in that manner.

They go collect your property. They will come as tenants before you know it they go take over your whole property. Stop renting your house especially your empty land to church.”

Says rented property becomes ‘tithe and offering’

Daddy Freeze further claimed that anyone who rents land or a building to a church should consider it as a permanent donation.

“If you rent your empty land to church just know say you don’t use am do tithe and offering. Any land or house you rent to a church has become your tithe and offering. You no go see am collect back home.”

He encouraged people who had experienced similar situations to share their stories publicly.

Anybody who gets experience may drop them under this comment section.

Cites Bible verses to support his position

The media personality argued that landlords should preserve their properties for their children rather than risk losing them.

He also cited Acts 7:48 and Acts 17:24, saying the Bible teaches that God does not dwell in buildings made by human hands.

This thing I’m saying I’m giving you a life-saving tip now. You might not like me but listen carefully. Your property is meant for your children to use, not for pastor to give your own children to hell because that church building is not the house of God.”

He continued: “The Bible is very clear, Acts chapter 7 verse 48 and Acts chapter 17 verse 24. God does not live in man-made temples.

The church is your pastor’s real estate investment and what you should give your own children as their real estate investment you have handed it over to somebody else who will give his own children.”

Makes further allegations

Concluding his remarks, Daddy Freeze again urged landlords not to lease their properties to churches.

He also made an unverified allegation that some churches could resort to spiritual means to retain control of rented properties.

Stop renting your land and your houses to churches making nobody like say I no tell you. They will collect am from you. They will do everything, they go even juju they will still bring. I don talk my own.”
