ECOWAS Opens Juicy YPIP Programme For Nigerians

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has opened applications for its 2027 Young Professional Immersion Programme (YPIP), with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urging qualified young Nigerians to take advantage of the fully funded one-year opportunity by applying through the official programme portal.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, said the programme is designed to provide young professionals from ECOWAS member states with practical work experience in regional institutions while equipping them with valuable technical and professional skills.
According to the ministry, participants will contribute to the implementation of regional integration initiatives under the guidance of experienced professionals, helping to strengthen cooperation across the West African sub-region.
To qualify, applicants must be 32 years of age or younger and possess a degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution.
Applications opened on July 31, 2026, and will remain open until August 31, 2026.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official ECOWAS Young Professional portal or visit the ECOWAS website for detailed information on the programme, eligibility requirements and application procedures.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs encouraged qualified young Nigerians to seize the opportunity to gain international professional experience, enhance their careers and contribute to regional development and integration.
The ministry also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that empower young Nigerians and promote their participation in regional and international development programmes.
