“I have over 200 cars” – Dino Melaye speaks on his wealth, church growth and Nigeria’s challenges

Former Kogi State senator Dino Melaye has spoken about his wealth, political career and views on Nigeria’s economic and security situation.
Speaking on the KAA Truths podcast, Melaye claimed that he owns more than 200 cars and said he had never secured a government contract at either the federal or state level.
Asked how he became wealthy, Melaye said his counsel would provide further details, while also reflecting on his background and how far he had risen in life.
Melaye Criticises Clerics Over Comments on Tinubu
The former senator also reacted to recent comments by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, regarding President Bola Tinubu’s handling of Nigeria’s challenges.
Melaye questioned how a religious leader could praise the government’s efforts while Nigerians continued to face insecurity, kidnappings and killings.
He suggested that Adeboye’s position could have been influenced by ethnic considerations, saying:
“Maybe he is doing Yoruba Parapo. But if it’s the same market that we go to that people are being kidnapped on a daily basis, that children are being murdered in cold blood in the wilderness, no minister of God will speak like that.”
Dino Melaye Questions Nigeria’s Number of Churches
Melaye also criticised what he described as the excessive proliferation of churches in Nigeria, arguing that the country needs more industries and productive economic activity.
He recalled visiting Ibadan, where he said he saw a six-storey building housing about 40 churches.
He argued that the number of churches compared with industries was an indication of a deeper economic problem.
“I was in Ibadan not long ago. There was this six-storey building I saw and I counted it. There were 40 churches on one building. You cannot have a good economy or country where you have more churches than industries,” he said.
