The Federal Government has unveiled a scorecard detailing 11 major economic reforms implemented between May 2023 and December 2025 as part of efforts to address longstanding structural challenges in Nigeria’s economy.
The Ministry of Finance disclosed this in a statement posted on its X handle on Thursday, August 20.
According to the ministry, the reforms cover fiscal policy, taxation, foreign exchange, education, infrastructure, labour, energy and capital markets.
It said the reforms were designed to strengthen public finances, improve revenue mobilisation, attract investment, support businesses and build Nigeria’s economic resilience.

“At the media briefing, the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy presented Nigeria’s Reform Scorecard, highlighting 11 major reforms undertaken between May 2023 and December 2025 to address longstanding structural challenges in the economy,” the ministry said.
The ministry described economic reform as an ongoing process requiring difficult decisions, sustained commitment and transparent reporting.
It said while progress had been recorded, the government recognised that more work was required to achieve its economic objectives.
“Progress has been made, but the work continues,” the statement said.
The ministry also stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in the reform process, saying Nigerians should be able to understand the policies being implemented and their impact.
“Transparency and accountability remain central to the reform process. Nigerians deserve to understand what is being done, why it is being done, the results being achieved and the challenges that still lie ahead,” it said.
The Ministry of Finance said it would, over the next 11 days, examine each of the reforms, including their objectives, implementation and impact on the economy and the lives of Nigerians.
The reforms, it added, are aimed at laying the foundation for sustainable economic prosperity.
