“Witches exist. I have gone to a meeting with witches before and came back to the house” — Kunle Omisore

Nollywood actor, Kunle Omisore has recounted an alleged encounter with people he described as witches after he was reportedly summoned to settle a dispute involving him.
Omisore shared the unusual experience during a recent episode of the African A-List podcast, where he spoke about being accused by a woman of damaging something belonging to her.
According to the actor, he attended the meeting to explain his side after insisting that he had never met the woman and was not responsible for the damage.
He said he was surprised by what he encountered at the gathering, including people carrying calabashes on their heads.
Actor describes unusual encounter
Omisore said, “Witches exist. I have gone to a meeting with witches before and came back to the house. Yes, they invited me. I went to settle a dispute.”
He added that the woman had accused him of offending her, but he maintained that he did not understand the allegation and had never met her.
Omisore further stated, “And I told their leader that I have never met her before, nor did I ruin anything that belonged to her.”
The actor said his experience differed from the familiar portrayal of witches in Nollywood films, particularly in their appearance and clothing.
Omisore compares experience with Nollywood portrayals
He explained that those he encountered did not have the painted faces commonly associated with witches in Nigerian movies.
According to him, they wore traditional iro and buba outfits, while some carried calabashes.
Omisore’s account has drawn attention because of the unusual nature of his story and his comparison between his alleged real-life encounter and fictional representations of witches in Nollywood.
The actor’s comments have since added another intriguing chapter to discussions around traditional beliefs and their portrayal in Nigerian popular culture.
