The Delta State Police Command has launched a campaign against political and digital thuggery as part of activities to commemorate the 2026 International Youth Day.

The command in a statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, SP Edafe Bright, issued on Thursday said the three-day programme, which begins on Thursday, August 20, is being organised in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.

The 2026 International Youth Day is being commemorated under the theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”
According to the command, the programme is designed to strengthen police-youth engagement and encourage young people to contribute positively to peace, security and community development.

The command said the official launch of the national campaign against political and digital thuggery would take place at Coka Park, Asaba, on Thursday at 2pm.
The second day of the programme, scheduled for Friday, August 21, will feature a youth sensitisation walkathon.

The walkathon will commence from the Police Headquarters along Okpanam Road, Asaba, at 7am.
