Bishop Oyedepo condemns killings and insecurity in Nigeria, calls for action

Bishop David Oyedepo condemns killings and insecurity in Nigeria following the recent attack in Naridon village, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where gunmen reportedly killed at least 30 people, including women and children.
Speaking during a church service, the bishop said he could not pray for those responsible for the killings, insisting that he would instead pray against them.
He also questioned what he described as the government’s silence over the attack, asking whether human lives no longer hold value.
Oyedepo further expressed concern over reports of restrictions on public preaching, stating that while he had remained quiet for a long time, he believes justice will eventually prevail.
His remarks come in the wake of the July 27, 2026 attack, which has stirred renewed concerns about insecurity in parts of Kaduna State.
He said in part …
“You can’t slåught€r members of my family and expect me to pray for you. I will pray against you and your household. You mean they k££l people everyday and the government is pretending like they don’t know what to do. I have been quiet for a long time. When you see God keep quiet at wickedness, it’s because the bubble is about to burst. As the Lord leads, whose I am, this bubble will burst.
I have not heard any statement from government quarters against the killings. I’m yet to hear one sir. Are human lives not of value anymore? And now you mustn’t preach in a bus, is that an issue? We kept quiet waiting for God, and God told me the bubble will burst”
