2026 WAEC Certificates – The Trumpet Newspaper Nigeria

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that certificates for candidates who sat the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for School Candidates are now available online.

The examination body made the announcement on Friday through its official social media platform, urging candidates to access their certificates via the WAEC Digital Certificate Platform.

WAEC said candidates could view, download and share their certificates through its official website or the WAEC Digital Certificate mobile application.

The digital platform provides two categories of access — Certificate Access, which allows individuals to retrieve their certificates, and Certificate Confirmation, which enables institutions and organisations to verify the authenticity of certificates.

To access their certificates, candidates are required to visit the WAEC website and access the Digital Certificate Platform before selecting the Certificate Access option.

They will then be required to provide their examination details and other identification information and complete the verification process, including OTP authentication where applicable.

After successful verification, candidates can view and download their digital certificates and save or share them with institutions requiring them.

WAEC also advised candidates to use its official digital certificate application, which is available on the Google Play Store.

The council clarified that the digital certificate platform is separate from the result-checking portal used by candidates to check their examination results.

The development follows WAEC’s release of the 2026 WASSCE results.

According to the examination body, 1,950,726 candidates sat for the examination, while 1,200,514 candidates, representing 61.54 per cent, obtained credits and above in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

The 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates was conducted between April 21 and June 19, 2026, with candidates from more than 24,200 secondary schools participating.

Candidates had earlier been required to generate a PIN and serial number through the WAEC website before accessing their examination results on the result-checking portal.
