Samuel Michael Bunas Emerges NDC Candidate for Yenagoa Constituency I, Appreciates Dickson, Party Members
Hon. Samuel Michael Bunas has emerged as the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Yenagoa Constituency I in the forthcoming Bayelsa State House of Assembly election, following the party’s primary election held on Friday, May 29, 2026.
Bunas described his emergence as a humbling moment and thanked the leadership of the party for entrusting him with the ticket ahead of the general election.
In a statement after the primary, the NDC candidate expressed appreciation to former Bayelsa State Governor and leader of the party in the state, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for the confidence reposed in him.
He also thanked party leaders, members and supporters across Yenagoa Constituency I, particularly in Epie and Atissa communities, for their encouragement and support throughout the process.
Bunas said his emergence represents a shared victory for members and supporters of the party who remain committed to its vision and political direction in the state.
According to him, the outcome of the primary reflects the collective resolve of party faithful to promote purposeful leadership, unity and progress in the constituency.
The NDC candidate said he remains committed to serving the people of Yenagoa Constituency I with dedication and loyalty if elected into the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
He pledged to provide effective representation and work in the interest of constituents, while advancing development efforts in the area.
Bunas noted that his campaign would be guided by the need to strengthen the constituency and uphold the ideals of the Nigerian Democratic Congress.
He called on members and supporters of the party to remain united as preparations continue for the general election.
The NDC flag bearer stressed the importance of collective effort and urged party faithful to stay focused on the task ahead.
