Photos and videos showing the interior of the East Legon residence where highlife legend Daddy Lumba was buried have surfaced on social media, revealing an ultra-modern space fitted out for his final resting place.
The images show the musician laid to rest in what appears to be the living room area of the house, surrounded by wreaths of flowers, framed photographs of him in performance, and a black marble floor.
The space is fully furnished with a television, fan, and air conditioning unit, giving the burial site the appearance of a lived-in room rather than a traditional grave.
The burial arrangement was confirmed by family head Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, who disclosed that the late highlife legend was buried at his East Legon residence in Accra
He stated that the decision to bury the musician at his residence was in line with Lumba’s own dying wish.
The burial location had already been public knowledge for months, reportedly after entertainer Afia Schwarzenegger made it public ahead of the family head’s confirmation.
The unconventional burial has not been without controversy, with some traditional authorities raising objections over burying the dead within a private residence rather than a cemetery or mausoleum.
