Skit maker Nasboi has responded to allegations made by fellow content creator Baba Orobo, defending his conduct and rejecting claims that he described him as having “no value.”
Recall that Baba Orobo had called out Nasboi for remarking that he had no value after asking for transportation.
In a statement shared on social media, Nasboi said he has built a reputation over the past six years for helping both colleagues and strangers, arguing that it was unfair to judge him based on one person’s complaint despite working with hundreds of people.
According to him, he worked with Baba Orobo on about five occasions and ensured he was paid each time. He also claimed he secured a one-night job for him at an AY show, where he earned ₦200,000.
Nasboi, however, alleged that Baba Orobo repeatedly requested additional support, including hotel accommodation and assistance in raising money to buy a car, which he described as a sense of entitlement.
The skit maker added that he has encountered different attitudes from people in the entertainment industry, ranging from those who are appreciative of opportunities to others who expect financial support beyond agreed terms.
He maintained that everyone who works with his team is paid and stated that he now leaves casting and payments to his production manager to ensure professionalism. Nasboi said he would continue to protect his reputation while moving forward.
